Okay so for this blog post I'm going to talk about one of my favorite movies of all times because to me it definitely is a classic. Fried Green Tomatoes. If you haven't seen it, go watch it because it is just a feel good movie. It is also one of my step mom's favorite movies. To me, it's just one of those movies that will never get old because if it's on TV I'm going to watch it. The film was produced in 1991 and directed by John Avnet. Personally I've never heard of Avnet but he's directed some hits such as Risky Business starring Tom Cruise, The Mighty Ducks (which hopefully must of y'all have seen) and George of the Jungle which I thought was a cute movie. Ultimately I think that Fried Green Tomatoes was his best work however. So Fried Green Tomatoes has some stars in it such as Kathy Bates and Mary Louise-Parker. Kathy Bates plays a middle aged woman going through her mid-life crisis and she meets a cute little old lady at a nursing home who ...

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog about some of the best movies ever made! For this post I decided to write about one of my favorite movies of all time, Grease. I don't think there's too many people out there that actually haven't seen Grease just because it is such a classic. My parents loved this movie and when they introduced it to me I loved it right away! The movie was directed by Randal Kleiser who also directed The Blue Lagoon and White Fang which aren't as heard of as Grease but they are still some great movies. Another addition to this movie that makes it so good is the fact that John Travolta plays the lead role. Travolta has been in many hit movies such as Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever. Although this is a musical and I typically don't care for musicals, this is my one exception. The songs are all so good and make you want to sing along! This music is about your typical high school lovebirds and the drama that comes a long with it an...

I asked my friend who also is a big fan of old movies what movie I should watch this week and he told me to watch Goodfellas. This movie was so good. Some people say it is even better than the Godfather because it has more action. That is just what I've heard because I haven't actually seen The Godfather. So, if you liked The Godfather then watch Goodfellas! Goodfellas was directed by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese is an amazing director who has directed some great movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street and Taxi Driver. Goodfellas was released in 1990 and is also widely know as arguably Scorsese's best movie. This movie was based on real life events from the gangster Henry Hill but because his crime resume was so long, the movie didn't show all of the crimes that he actually committed. This movie takes place in New York, New York from the 1950's to the 1980's. Robert De Niro is a great actor that has had many roles in his career. Scorsese must like him becaus...

Alrighty guys I have another movie for ya'll. This weeks movie I will be talking about is Top Gun. Wow I really love this movie. It has an amazing cast and a great plot line to it. This is also one of my dad and my step mom's favorite movies so of course as a kid I was forced to watch it. Top Gun never gets old. I 100% recommend watching this movie if you've never seen it! Top Gun was released in 1986 and directed by Tony Scott who also directed many other great movies including The A-Team and Crimson Tide. In my opinion the best movie he ever directed however, would have to be Top Gun. 80's was just Scott's peak because he did so many great movies during that time. Like I was saying earlier, the cast in this movie was an all-star one. Tom Cruise is an incredible actor and was perfect for the role of Maverick. His friendship with Anthony Edwards known as Goose in the movie is one that everyone would want. They weren't only partners when they flew toget...

Hey guys and welcome back to my wonderful blog! So since I am a big fan of movies and my dad is as well, I asked him what movie I should watch and review. He asked me if I've ever seen Trading Places and I said I wasn't sure because you know I've seen a lot of movies. I started watching it with him and it seemed really familiar but it was a nice little review of the movie. Trading Places was directed by John Landis who also directed The Blues Brothers and many other great movies. Starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd, this movie was about exactly what the title states; trading places. I liked this movie a lot but do I think its anything like Forest Gump? No. It's really hard to beat a movie like that.. lol. Dan Aykroyd plays a rich, snooty stockbroker names Winthorpe who gets everything he ever wanted handed to him. His bosses however, apparently get bored with their jobs and make a bet on Winthorpe's way of life. One of them bets that he can make a successful s...

Hello everyone and welcome back to this fabulous blog of mine where I will be reviewing some of my favorite and also some classic movies. I am super excited to do this blog because it combines two of the thing I love doing the most; watching movies and expressing my opinions. Now the thing that might be a little controversial about my blog is that my idea of a classic movie may differ from someone else's idea, but that is why this is my blog... LOL. Now, the first movie I will be reviewing is favorited by many and considered a classic by most. I will be talking about Forest Gump! Directed by Robert Zemeckis, this movie won many awards including an Academy Award for best picture. This movie will never get old to me. I could watch it a million times over and never get tired of it. If you have not seen this movie I highly suggest you go watch it. Forest Gump is one of those movies that you can watch over and over (at least for a little bit). First, I want to talk about...
